Coaching for Performance

Participants will identify the characteristics of effective coaches. Using the DiSC Managing Performance Action Planner, we will identify the most effective ways for coaching each of the four (4) work styles: Dominant-Influential-Steadiness-Conscientious. Learn what are the roadblocks or barriers to coaching and how we can avoid them or reduce their effect on the coaching process. Guidelines for a successful coaching session will be provided. In this session, participants will prepare to work specifically with one individual employee: 1) Practice by the coach with a particular employee using the Performance Improvement Plan. 2) Practice a follow up session to regular coaching sessions. 3) Practice a follow up session after the employee makes a mistake. Practical applications with specific employees are the beneficial “take-aways” from this session that can be put into use immediately.
